Regardless of the name, the parking brake is designed to supplement the main hydraulic braking system and keep the vehicle stationary when it is shut down and parked. It can also be used to slow the vehicle to a stop in an emergency.
What are Electric Braking Systems?
An electric brake system is a braking system that uses electricity to stop a vehicle. Unlike hydraulic braking systems, which use fluid to transfer braking force from the pedal to the wheel brakes, electric brake systems use an electric motor to generate the braking force instead.
