Innova SDS43 Vs Autel MD906 Pro: Key Diffferences
Innova SDS43 and Autel MD906 Pro are both excellent automotive diagnostic tools, but they have some differences in terms of hardware, software, and functions. Here are the key differences between the two:
Usability Comparison
The Autel MD906 Pro comes with the V150 Lite VCI device, which means you’re no longer limited by the length of the data cable and forced to sit inside the car to perform diagnostics—you can now work from outside the vehicle, making it easier to observe the vehicle’s condition.
Additionally, the touchscreen is more responsive and flexible than physical buttons; it offers all the options you need, so you can simply tap them instead of having to navigate step by step to the desired location.
Overall, then, the Autel MD906 Pro comes out on top in the usability category. However, this doesn’t prevent DIY enthusiasts who prefer button controls and wired connections from choosing the Innova SDS43.
Comparison of Comprehensive Diagnostic Performance
Overall diagnostic performance is largely determined by hardware configuration, including more advanced processors, larger amounts of RAM, and faster connection speeds, among other factors. All of these influence diagnostic performance and efficiency.
As shown in the table, the Autel MD906 Pro is equipped with a quad-core processor and runs on the Android 9.0 operating system. It also features 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. These hardware specifications ensure smooth and efficient diagnostics to a certain extent.
As for the Innova SDS43, I’ve scoured its official website and user manual but haven’t found any information about the processor. So it’s hard to say for sure. If anyone has any data on this, please feel free to leave a comment.
Therefore, in this regard, due to a lack of information, based on the information available, I conclude that the Autel MD906 Pro offers superior overall diagnostic performance.

Autel MD906 Pro Overview
Comparison of Diagnostic Features
In terms of diagnostic capabilities, the Innova SDS43 supports bidirectional control, but this is limited to the ECM/PCM and TCM modules of ten vehicle models. In addition to this advantage over the Autel MD906 Pro, it supports a wider range of reset functions, including oil service reset, battery registration, TPMS relearning, and EPB reset.
In terms of the breadth of diagnostic features, the Innova SDS43 comes out on top.
Differences in Vehicle Coverage
Vehicle compatibility is crucial for a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner. If the scanner isn’t compatible with your vehicle, it will end up as a useless, unused item. So, in this comparison, which one has the edge?
The Autel MD906 Pro supports the CAN FD communication protocol and has no regional restrictions, so you can use it anywhere. The Innova SDS43, on the other hand, is subject to regional restrictions and can only be used in the United States. The Autel MD906 Pro supports a wider range of vehicle models.
In this category, the Autel MD906 Pro comes out on top.
In short: Looking at the overall data, the Autel MD906 Pro may be superior, but its diagnostic capabilities are slightly weaker than those of the Innova SDS43. Of course, your final choice should be based on your actual diagnostic needs.

Innova SDS43 VS Autel MD906 Pro: Which One Should You Choose?
In the previous section, we provided a detailed comparison of these two Bluetooth OBD2 scanners based on the data in the table. In this section, we will offer specific recommendations based on different usage scenarios and diagnostic requirements:
- Choose the Innova SDS43: If you perform diagnostic and repair work exclusively in the U.S., and the tool covers the vehicles you typically service, the Innova SDS43 is a great choice if you are looking for a scanner with bi-directional control capabilities.
- Choose the Autel MD906 Pro: If you have higher requirements for hardware specifications—seeking an experience comparable to an OBD2 tablet scanner and prioritizing diagnostic efficiency and vehicle coverage—but do not strictly require bi-directional control functions, you might choose the Autel MD906 Pro.
Conclusion
Innova SDS43 and Autel MD906 Pro are both excellent automotive diagnostic tools, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. The Innova SDS43 excels in bidirectional control and a wider range of reset functions, while the Autel MD906 Pro offers superior hardware specifications, better usability, and broader vehicle coverage.
